In an impressive 4-0 victory in Vancouver Wednesday night, the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years.
Tim Thomas was awarded the Conn Smythe trophy after yet another fantastic game in goal for Boston. Thomas’ shutout was joined by two goals from both Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand to help bring Boston to victory.
Vancouver, with their first chance since losing to the Rangers in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals, will have to wait at least another year for another crack at the cup.
