The Fiesta Bowl is digging itself out of a deep hole – but made strides Monday when it hired University of Arizona President Robert Shelton to take over as Executive Director.
Shelton replaces John Junker who was fired after an investigation found that he spent funds on lavish parties and one night in particular at strip club.
Shelton has been the President of University of Arizona for the past five years and is a member on the Bowl Championship Series presidential oversight committee.
The BCS recently fined the bowl $1 million but allowed the event to remain as one of its four games.
