Not much is known as to why NCAA investigators are at Miami, but Hurricanes fans can’t be happy. Reports surfaced earlier this week that NCAA investigators spent several days in Miami earlier this month. According to sources who informed The Associated Press, the inquiry may involve the school’s compliance department.
Standard operating procedure would be that first the school would receive a notice regarding the infractions and then have a chance to meet with the infraction committee.
Recall that earlier this week that a Hurricanes football player, safety Ray-Ray Armstrong, was dismissed for undisclosed rules violations. Armstrong was suspended for four games last year for taking money from former booster, Nevin Shapiro. He then missed one more game for interacting with a person who “works with professional athletes” according to The AP.
Sadly, with the ACC media day and training camp just around the corner, Miami now has one more distraction to add to the list.
