Curt Schilling’s company bankrupt, blames Rhode Island Governor

Ask Curt Schilling about 38 Studios in 2009, and chances are he was feeling pretty good. The company had recently hired multiple top-name developers from other companies – one from Sony and the company recently purchased the rights to a few “up-and-coming” titles.

But ask Shilling about his company now, and it would be an entirely different story. It recently filed for bankruptcy.

Schilling, the former MLB pitcher, says the collapse of his 38 Studios video game company has probably cost him all of his baseball earnings.

And he put part of the blame on Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee.

Schilling said during an interview on WEEI-FM in Boston on Friday that his baseball money is “probably all gone.”

It was recently reported that the Rhode Island state police, the attorney general’s office, the U.S. Attorney’s office, and the FBI were launching investigations into the company.

Not a good day to be Curt Schilling.
