The Indianapolis Colts aren’t the only team shedding talent, Saturday, Minnesota Vikings released more than $13 million in veteran starters.
The Vikings released left guard Steve Hutchinson, right guard Anthony Herrera and cornerback Cedric Griffin. All three players have been starters for the team for the better half of the last decade.
The Vikings are hoping to get get faster on the line and in the defensive backfield. The NFC North has been switching to a vertical passing league the past few seasons and the Vikings are looking to catch up to the trend by getting younger
It also helps to free up cap space.
Hutchinson was due just under seven-million dollars in salary in 2012.
