In an interesting twist, reports are surfacing that All-Star Manny Ramirez is moving north to play with the Oakland Athletics.
ESPN was the first to report the deal. Since then multiple sources have been reporting that the deal is worth roughly $500,000. Although the deal is contingent on Ramirez passing a team physical and – you guessed it – another drug test.
Of course before Man-Ram can play in an A’s uniform he must sit out a 5-game suspension for testing positive on a drug test for a second time.
As Associated Press writer Janie McCauley pointed out: “Barring rainouts, his first game could be May 30 – on his 40th birthday.”
Of course as The [Five] Sides Casey Grogan made clear there is only one person to blame for this move: Dan Johnson.
