Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player award “in a landslide” according to AP writer Barry Wilner.
Rodgers is the first Green Bay Packer to win teh award since Brett Favre did so in 1997. Favre, of course, won three in a row.
Rodgers tallied 48 of the 50 votes. Saints’ Drew Brees received two votes.
The former first-rounder led the NFL in passing during the 2011 season. He finished with a passer rating of 122.5 with 45 touchdown passes while only tossing six interceptions. He also completed more than 68-percent of his passes.
The Packers went 15-1 and won the NFC North.
