The Miami Dolphins might be getting serious about Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. The team interview Philbin again Wednesday.
It was the second time the coach has spoken with the team. This time the two sides met in New York City.Philbin met with team owner Stephen Ross and general manager Jeff Ireland.
The team isn’t “all-in” with Philbin quite yet. The Dolphins front office has also scheduled second interviews with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and the Dolphins’ interim coach, Todd Bowles.
The three coaches are finalists for the job, according to The Associated Press. Jeff Fisher was originally the top choice, but Fisher turned down job to coach of the St. Louis Rams.
Philbin has been the offensive coordinator for the Packers since 2007. The Packers have finished each season in the Top 10 for offensive yardage since he took over as coordinator – finishing as high as second his first year on the job and third in 2011.
Philbin has been with Green Bay since 2003.
