The Green Bay Packers are in the news twice in one night. This time for signing quarterback Nick Hill.
The Packers officially announced the signing Friday.
Hill has been playing in the Arena Football League since 2009. He was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent.
Hill played for the Orlando Predators in 2010-2011. In 16 games last season, Hill finished 387-of-578 passing with 4,758 yards and 97 touchdowns, with 17 interceptions. He also ran for nine TDs.
Packers’ offensive coordinator Joe Philbin left the team Friday to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, this signing could be a hint that backup quarterback Matt Flynn could leave as a free agent and follow Philbin.
That would leave Graham Harrell, and now Hill, as Aaron Rodgers’ backups next season.
