In the past decade, Jamie Moyer has become as famous for being “old” as he has for being a quality southpaw pitcher.
Well, the legend of Old Jamie Moyer only grows longer as the 49-year-old pitcher has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies.
Moyer was invited to Colorado Rockies spring training. Pending a physical, of course.
The 49-year-old lefty didn’t play last season – what would have been his 24th – after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow, according to The Associated Press.
To put this into perspective, Moyer has been pitching since 1986. Moyer is 267-204 with a 4.24 career ERA.
