I didn’t take long to see where the team stood. Denver Broncos Chief of Football Operation John Elway is supporting quarterback Tim Tebow again – the Monday after he lost to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Tim Tebow will enter the Broncos 2012 training camp as the starting quarterback
Elway did so at a press conference Monday. Elway also “pledged to work with Tebow this offseason” according to The Associated Press, in hopes to “polish his passing game.”
“Tim (Tebow) has earned the right to be the starting quarterback going into training camp next year,” Elway said. “He made some good strides.”
When Tebow took over as the starting quarteback, the team was 1-4 behind 4-2 Oakland and 4-1 San Diego. After a six-game win streak, Tebow had the Broncos in the hunt for a playoff spot. The team eventually won the division and received the first playoff berth since 2005.
Tebow responded by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers – in overtime – on an 80-yard TD strike.
One week later, though, he came up short in a loss to New England.
