The one-game-over-.500 Golden State Warriors are 2-1 and will likely have Stephen Curry back for the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Good news as Curry has been battling a sore ankle.
The bad news is the Warriors aren’t expecting Monta Ellis to suit up on Saturday night.
Curry rolled his ankle and sprained it during team drills, but will still be able to play, while Ellis was excused from the workout to attend his grandmother’s funeral in Mississippi.
Warriors coach Mark Jackson told reporters that he told Ellis to take all the time he needs before returning to the Bay Area.
Despite his grandmothers death on Christmas day, Ellis still played each of the first three games. Golden State has won back-to-back games beating Chicago and New York.
