Sandusky tries saving Paterno’s name

I’m quite certain I’m unable to believe anything Jerry Sandusky says. He could look at me, and tell me the sky is blue or my eyes are brown and I’d still have to look up, then find a mirror.

There are certain people that once they cross a certain boundary, lose all credibility.

It happens with friends, sure, but mostly it happens with public figures (read: slimy politicians) and celebrities.

Sandusky has made that true for alleged sexual abusers, too.

Now, I am not allowed to say he is guilty, but damn, the evidence doesn’t look good. At all. 40 counts of molesting eight different boys over a 15 year span. Wow. The only person that could get Sandusky out of this one, died about six years ago. Rest in Peace, Johnnie Cochran.

I could just hear him now, “How many years later, and now the boy just admitted it, you must acquit it.”

Anyway, all of that is beside the point of this post.

Sandusky sat down for an interview with the New York Times and tried to cover for his former boss. He said that Joe Paterno never spoke to him about any suspected misconduct with minors.

Great. We believe you, Jerry. Let’s get JoePa back to State College.

Oh, wait. No we don’t.

Not once, Jerry? You didn’t speak ONCE to JoePa about it? There wasn’t one time that JoePa looked you in the eye and asked, “is it true?” there wasn’t one time that he sat you down and said, “don’t put us in this kind of a place, ever again.”

You want me to believe that in all the time you two had together that not ONCE did Joe Paterno make any mention of ANY of the allegations against you and reference their validity?

Yes, you say?

Perfect. Well then, that is why he is fired.

Recall that Penn State’s board of trustees fired Paterno on Nov. 9 because it felt the coach didn’t do enough after an assistant coach told Paterno he saw you, Sandusky, assaulting a young boy in the football building showers in March 2002.

He didn’t do enough. He didn’t alert the authorities to a stern enough degree. And now you are saying he didn’t ask you about it, either.

Great. Keep him out.

Oh, there is more, you say?

You, Sandusky, also went on to tell the paper that you and Paterno never spoke about the alleged 2002 incident or a 1998 child molestation complaint, either? Holy Smokes.

It’s no wonder you are fired, awaiting a trial and JoePa is sitting at home watching the games instead of coaching them.

You, sir, are either lying or Joe Paterno is a coward. Either way, I’m happy both of you have no place on the campus of ANY school anymore.
