Oakland Athletics face opposition about move to San Jose

A team I could really care less about is moving to a place I could care even less about. This is a true story.

But. There is a big but. And I like big buts…

The “but” is BUT the move and the opposition to the move give me an opportunity to share one of my all-time favorite youtube videos.

So, here is the story.

A group called “Stand for San Jose,” is “standing” int eh way of the Oakland Athletics atempt to move to their town. The group – along with the San Francisco Giants – have sued the City of San Jose claiming a “failure to perform a proper environmental review” of land committed to the A’s, according to multiple reports.

The suit also claims the city violated citizens’ rights because they didn’t allow people to vote on the move. About a month ago, the San Jose City Council agreed to sell about five acres to the A’s.

The move is still waiting on the final OK from MLB Commissioner Bud Selig as the move would put the A’s in the San Francisco Giants’ territory.

And so, that brings me to what the fans are doing… including… ghost-riding their Volvos.
