The Winter Meetings have been full of interesting moves thus far. This one might have fallen under the radar, but the New York Yankees signed pitcher Freddy Garcia to a one-year contract and that could be interesting if he can hold up until September.
The right-hander is 6-3 in 10 starts in the post-season. He is 1-0 in the World Series.
Garcia, who turns 36 next October, returns to the Yanks for one more year. Last season, he finished 12-8 with a 3.62 ERA in 26 appearances. He also lost his first post-season game since 2001.
Last season, Garcia also matched ported his first back-to-back 12-win seasons since 2005 and 2006.
