Idaho Vandalizes Oregon State, 74-60

Playing with heavy hearts, the Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball team took the court Friday night against the Idaho Vandals. It didn’t end well. Idaho’s Deremy Geiger had career highs with 27 points and seven 3-pointers to push the Vandals past the Beavers, 74-60.

“It took a lot out of us,” guard Roberto Nelson, who had a team-high 15 points, told The Oregonian, of Thompson’s death. “You could see it on guys’ faces.”

Oregon State (6-2), took the court only two days after Beavers football player Fred Thompson died after a pick-up basketball game at Dixon Rec Center on campus.

Idaho’s Stephen Madison scored nine points, tallied 12 rebounds and five assists.

The Vandals (5-4) got out to an early lead and were up 35-24 at halftime and never looked back.
