It looks like the rich will get richer.
The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired star point guard Chris Paul from the New Orleans Hornets as part of a three team trade including the Houston Rockets.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the deal.
With Paul going to Los Angeles, the Hornets will receive forward Lamar Odom from the Lakers, as well as guard Kevin Martin, forward/center Luis Scola, and guard Goran Dragic from the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets will receive forward Pau Gasol from the Hornets via Los Angeles.
Paul is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2011-2012 season and was not expected to resign with the Hornets.
Paul had been rumored to want to join the New York Knicks after the season but turned his sights to Los Angeles after it became clear the Knicks did not have the assets to acquire him.
