Seattle Seahawks injuries mount before season opener

Seattle Seahawks Head Coach, Pete Carroll, is looking around his upgraded offense scratching his head – worried it might not be prepared for Week 1

Free agent signees Offensive lineman Robert Gallery has a sprained knee and wide receiver Sidney Rice has a sore shoulder. Both might be unavailable for the season opener. Carroll was concerned Gallery would miss the opener and unsure if Rice would be able to practice until late in the week..

It’s not just the newcomers, though. Starting running back, Marshawn Lynch (ankle), and starting middle linebacker David Hawthorne (knee), are expected to return to practice Wednesday.

In Gallery’s absence, first-round pick James Carpenter has taken snaps at left guard.
