Let it be known that Madison and Camp Randall Stadium offer a fantastic and welcoming environment for any fan. And the Wisconsin fans are equally as inviting.
I parked a few blocks from the stadium and had the pleasure (and I mean that, sincerely) of walking through the camps of tailgaters. A great place for football. Fans – of both teams – walking together, talking, talking smack. A very friendly environment.
Granted, the other OSU, Ohio State, isn’t in town.
A few sights of note:
• A three-story beer bong (being hoisted off a balcony to patrons at ground level)
• Some Oregon State Beaver fans, proudly sporting Orange and Black
• Mopeds, Mopeds, Mopeds and even more Mopeds
But once I made it into the stadium I realized how truly special this environment is. About an hour before kickoff the student section is already filling with students who are turning the endzone into a Sea of Red.
For the Beaver fans entering the stadium it might be a familiar feel. A very intimate football setting. Even in the press box, it feels very close to the field.
And in case you’re curious. The food smells fantastic.
