Manny Ramirez, former MLB All-Star and World Series MVP, made his first court appearance after a domestic dispute at his South Florida home. Broward Circuit Judge Jon Hurley set bail at $2,500 Tuesday morning
Judge Hurley also ordered Ramirez have no direct contact with his wife and Hurley wasn’t clear when Ramirez would leave Broward County Jail.
The Associated Press is reporting that “Broward County sheriff’s officials say 39-year-old Ramirez was arguing with his wife, Juliana, when he slapped her face, causing her to hit her head on their bed’s headboard. She told the deputy she was afraid the situation would escalate.”
Ramirez has apparently denied hitting his wife.
