Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson confirmed to reporters that young gun, Stephen Strasburg, will make his 2011 debut for the Nationals on Sept. 6.
If everything goes according to play during his rehab start for Double-A Harrisburg on Thursday, he’ll be throwing for the Nationals the following Tuesday.
Strasburg is recovering from Tommy John surgery and Johnson says he’s “got a spot open for him.”
Johnson also told reporters that left-hander Tom Milone would be called-up from Triple-A Syracuse to start against the Mets on Saturday. Milone will replace Jordan Zimmermann.
