It was a sad sight for Chicago Bears players and fans alike. Bears tight end Desmond Clark, who has been trying to make a “come back” since 2008, was taken off the field on a cart.
In the fourth quarter of a game against the Tennessee Titans, Clark was hit by Titans safety Anthony Smith, and on Clark’s way to the ground his knee bent awkwardly.
While Clark is the No. 3 tight end on the roster, he was hoping to see more action this season after being sidelined the past two years with injuries.
The 12-year pro has suited up with three different teams – Denver, Miami and Chicago. He’s tallied 323 receptions for 3591 yards and 27 touchdowns in his career.
Clark wasn’t the only Bear roughed-up in the game. Running back Marion Barber was also hurt, injuring his calf in the first half. He didn’t return.
The severity of both injuries is still uncertain.
