The Washington Nationals traded 35-year-old Jerry Hairston Jr. to the Milwaukee Brewers for outfielder Erik Komatsu.
Mike Rizzo, Nationals VP of Baseball Operations, made the announcement before the Nationals-Mets game Saturday.
Komatsu bats and throws left and was the 2010 Minor League Player of the Year for the Brewers. He was batting .294 with an on-base percentage of .393 in 93 Double-A games this season in Huntsville.
Hairston is batting .268 with four homeruns in 75 games this season.
