From one championship to another – Jeremy Lamb is a busy guy. The soon-to-be-sophomore at Connecticut led the USA U-19 basketball team to a 107-105 win over Lithuania in the second round of the FIBA Under-19 World Championship.
Lamb finished with 35 points – including two points on a baseline jumper with 1.5 seconds left in overtime.
The U.S. (5-0) led 94-86 with 37 seconds left in regulation, but Lithuania (3-2) tied the game at 94 on a goaltending call with 1.7
seconds to play.
But the Americans rallied. Florida’s Patric Young scored six points on two three-point plays.
The defending champion U.S. ends the second round against Croatia (3-2) on Wednesday.
