Second time Blue Jays play during record heat in Texas

The Toronto Blue Jays bring the heat when they play the Texas Rangers – literally. The Blue Jays visited the Texas Rangers Sunday and played in a record-setting 105 degrees.

It’s the second time the Blue Jays have played in record heat in the last three years. And the second time the Rangers have played in record heat this season.

The last 105-degree game was on July 8, when the Rangers played the Oakland Athletics.

Triple-digit temperatures aren’t uncommon in Texas, but with games starting at 7 p.m. it’s not common for temperatures to remain in the triple digits.

The previous record had been 103 degrees on Aug. 3, 2008, against Toronto. That also was a night game.
