The Florida Panthers signed the team’s first-round pick from the 2010 NHL Draft.
The Panthers inked defenseman Erik Gudbranson to an entry-level contract. The 19-year-old Canadian played in six preseason games last fall – tallying a goal, and assist and 17 penalty minutes. Since then, he’s been playing in the OHL where he finished last season with 12 goals and 22 assists in 44 games.
He also played for Canada at the World Junior Championships this year, helping win a silver medal.
