After falling behind early in last night’s game the Washington Nationals are looking to bounce back against the New York Mets tonight. The Mets beat the Nationals 8-5 last night.
The Nats drop to a 3-6 record against the Mets this season.
But they are looking to turn that around tonight.
On the bump for the Nationals tonight, right-hander Jason Marquis. Marquis is 8-5 with a 3.95 ERA. His last time out he took a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Dodgers – allowing three runs on five hits.
For the Mets, R.A. Dickey will be tossing. Dickey is 5-8 with a 3.74 ERA.
As of now, the Nats need to win 21 of the team’s remaining games to finish with 70 wins beating their record from last season.
A fun fact, Nationals manager Davey Johnson guided the Mets to the World Series in 1986.
