The Washington Nationals announced that Ivan Rodriguez is being placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 7th. Pudge is suffering from a right oblique strain.
The 39-year-old is batting .214 with two homeruns. The Nationals made the announcement Friday before their game with the Colorado Rockies.
The Nationals have recalled Jesus Flores from Triple-A Syracuse. Flores, 26, was batting .234 in the minors with 15 doubles and five home runs.
This is Flores’ second stint with the Nationals. He was also called up in April and was 1-for-2.
