Timberwolves to fire Kurt Rambis

The Minnesota Timberwolves will fire head coach Kurt Rambis.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the impending move.

The Timberwolves will not officially announce the firing until after Thursday night’s NBA Draft.

Rambis went 32-132 as the coach of the Timberwolves.  Minnesota finished with the worst record in the NBA this past season going 17-65.

The team will begin its search for a new head coach after the draft.  University of Washington coach Lorenzo Romar is expected to be a candidate.
