Brian Johnson is still recovering from a ball thrown at the back of his head – but he’s still “probable” for the games this weekend in Gainesville.
The ‘Florida Feenom’ is planing to be back in time for this weekend’s NCAA Super Regional games, according to Gators Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan. Johnson is 8-3 on the season with a 3.66 ERA.
O’Sullivan told the media that Johnson has gone through practices, bullpen work and workouts without any concussion symptoms.
Johnson was injured on the mound May 28th. Teammate, catcher Mike Zunino, attempted to throw out a runner at second – in a game against Georgia – and Johnson couldn’t get out of the way fast enough.
But he doesn’t just pitch, Johnson’s hitting .312 with five home runs and 27 RBI as a designated hitter and first baseman.
