This is where ESPN might be the best. On the inevitable slow news day. This is when you hear the four-letter-network lead with some non-story, twist it around, get a few experts to wrangle a bit and by the end of the 6 p.m. SportsCenter have the entire nation tripping.
Don’t believe me? Watch SportsCenter tonight.
Literally nothing is happening. After the “hustle and bustle” of the NBA Draft things have quieted down around the world of sports. The NHL Draft concluded and raised very few eyebrows. Sweden might be the most excited by the draft.
Twenty-eight Swedes were selected in the seven rounds. They finished behind the United States (64) and third to Canada (79).
But outside of Sweden, it’s been quiet. After a handful of baseball games the only real news to report is a toddler threw a foul ball back to the field at a Giants game. Oh, and the Dodgers’ Matt Kemp was ejected for arguing balls and strikes.
It’s a lazy Saturday, for sure.
