Ricky Rubio has ended his two-year “holdout” with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he will play for the team starting next season.
Rubio wasn’t the typical holdout, his reason for not signing with the Timberwolves surrounded his current contract with a team overseas.
At this time sources say a deal has been struck, though the details and formal announcement aren’t being announced as Rubio is still under contract with his Euroleague team and his team is currently in the playoffs.
The [Five] Daily reported last night that a deal had not officially been struck by the deadline to sign Rubio under the current NBA CBA. This was a point of emphasis for Rubio – the main reason is the rookie pay scale. But, it looks as though this deal was inked under the current CBA and for the original dollar amount.
