The Philadelphia Phillies have placed starting pitcher Roy Oswalt on the 15-day disabled list due to lower back inflammation.
To take his place on the roster the team recalled right handed pitcher Scott Mathieson from Triple A Lehigh Valley.
Oswalt is 4-6 with a 3.79 ERA this season in 13 games with the Phillies, but he is 1-5 with a 4.06 ERA over his last eight starts.
He spent time earlier this season (April 27-May 16) on the DL with back inflammation.
The veteran right hander will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his injury.
