Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom will return for his 20th NHL season.
Lidstrom agreed to a one-year deal to return the Red Wings, the team announced Monday morning.
The 41-year old captain finished the 2010-2011 season with 16 goals and 46 assists in 82 games this past season.
Lidstrom has been won the Norris Trophy, given to the league’s top defeseman, six times in his 20-year career.
