LeBron faces elimination, again

Amid the coughing-gate which has been blown out of proportion by the media, LeBron James must focus. He’s been in this situation before and it hasn’t faired well for him in the past.

He watched the San Antonio Spurs celebrate an NBA championship on his home court in Cleveland four years ago. He watched teams battle back on his current team, the Heat, all season long. Sunday, LeBron’s coach Erik Spoelstra is keeping LeBron and his team focused on this game.

“For our group this year, nothing that we’ve done or experienced together has been easy. It has been a year that has had a lot of difficult roads,” Spoelstra told The Wasington Post. “I don’t care what happened during the regular season, what ups and downs, what tribulations we had to go through, we’ll take that. And that’s the way our mentality is right now. We feel very confident coming back here.”

For all that James has done in his career – two MVP awards, seven All-Star appearances, a scoring title – there’s one thing he still hasn’t managed. Sunday night, Miami is facing elimination for the first time in these playoffs.
