Gaitlin runs at Prefontaine, still can’t run overseas

U.S. sprinter Justin Gaitlin will be running the 100-meters at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday – but he still can’t race in Europe.

Swedish track officials, though, are still preventing the former Olympic champion from competing even after he served a four-year doping suspension.

The director of the Stockholm Diamond League meeting announced, via e-mail, Friday that Ethe the SDL, “will continue to recommend that members do not invite athletes who we believe cause disrepute to our meetings and our sport.”

Gaitlin, once the fastest man in the world, failed a doping test in 2006 for excessive testosterone.
