the 2001 Heisman Trophy winner, Eric Crouch is going to return to football.
The former Nebraska and then Green Bay Packers quarterback will join about 70 players taking part in minicamps in Omaha for the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
Crouch was a 2002 third-round NFL draft choice of the St. Louis Rams – he was drafted as a safety. He “retired” after the Rams refused to give him a shot at quarterback. In 2004, the Green Bay Packers looked at him as a quarterback and safety but released him before training camp. He played three games at quarterback in 2006 for Toronto of
the CFL.
Since then he’s run a playground equipment company and done some broadcasting.
