Talk about a great start to the College World Series. TD Ameritrade Park, only a few blocks from the Missouri River, might have to wait to host it’s first College World Series
The College World Series tarts June 18th.
Okay, so the possibility that the ballpark ends up under water is minute – but it’s there. Currently, the NCAA and the College World Series haven’t discussed a plan of action but there could be discussions soon.
But it could effect the crowds. TD Ameritrade Park spokeswoman Rebecca Kleeman told The Associated Press that fans have been calling to ask about contingency plans.
The Missouri River is about a foot over flood stage and is expected to crest in a few weeks when the snow- and water-runoff finally make it to Omaha. Emergency management officials are confident a 42-foot levee will protect the city.
