Clemson lands Chad Kelly

Jon – not Anthony – Wiener is reporting that Jim Kelly’s nephew is headed to Clemson.

Chad Kelly, nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, made a name for himself in becoming the first to win the NFL-sponsored “Punt, Pass and Kick” competition in four age groups. He finally chose his school Thursday.

He chose Clemson. He announced the decision, a day after visiting with Clemson coach Dabo Swinney in South Carolina.

Wiener was following the story all day long for The [Five] Daily.

Kelly, a high school junior, is a Buffalo, NY native and plays for St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He led his team to the New York State Catholic School title. He finished with 2,159 passing yards and 24 touchdowns with eight interceptions. He also had 1,057 rushing yards and 15 more touchdowns.

Kelly was choosing between his hometown Buffalo, Alabama, Florida State and Clemson.
