There are a few reasons why I am slow to completely embrace soccer. I can forget that it’s just not that exciting and that the only person that is allowed to use his hands is the goalie.
But it’s the violence.
In Brazil, soccer fans struck again. Brazilian police say “at least four” soccer fans were shot during a fight before a game.
Police say 80 fans have been detained after the incident Sunday in which six other people were hurt.
Per The Associated Press:
Police say men in a car fired at a large group of supporters in the middle of a fight in the city of Niteroi, near Rio de Janeiro. It was not immediately clear how the fight began.
Flamengo and Vasco will play Sunday in the final of the Rio Cup, the second stage of the Rio de Janeiro state championship.
And at least one person is rumored to be dead.
