Cleveland Indians outfield Shin-Soo Choo was arrested early Monday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol. The preliminary results of his field test showed Choo had a BAC level of .201, over twice the legal limit.
On Monday Indians GM Chris Antonetti released a statement on behalf of the team:
“We are aware of the incident with Shin-Soo Choo and have spoken to him about it. The Indians organization takes these issues very seriously and we are disappointed in the matter. We will continue to monitor the situation and we will not have any further comment at this time.”
Choo has not been reprimanded by the team and is currently in the starting lineup for Tuesday night’s game against the Oakland Athletics. He is batting .322 with 4 home runs and 15 RBIs this season.
