Miami Heat President Pat Riley and Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman have been named NBA co-Executives of the Year.
Riley was the favorite for the award all season long after retaining guard Dwayne Wade and signing forwards LeBron James and Chris Bosh during the offseason. The NBA legend also made several moves to fill out the roster including signing veterans Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Eric Dampier, Juwan Howard, and Mike Bibby.
Forman is in his 13th season with the Bulls and his second as the team’s general manager. Forman helped reinvent a 41-win Bulls team by signing free agents Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, and Kyle Korver during the offseason. He saw his team win a league-best 62 games, rookie coach Tom Thibodeau earn NBA Coach of the Year, and Derrick Rose win MVP.
