The legal woes for the Ducks football program continues. Oregon suspended Kiko Alonso indefinitely following his arrest on burglary and trespassing charges.
Alonso was suspended for the entire 2010 season after a driving while intoxicated citation last winter. This is the second charge for burglary the program has faced in the past year. Former Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli faced similar charges on May 11, 2010.
Oregon football coach Chip Kelly announced the suspension Monday in a statement from the university. He also said there would be no further comment while the case was pending.
The Eugene newspaper, The Register-Guard, reported the 20-year-old junior from Los Gatos, Calif., was arrested early Sunday. He was charged with burglary, trespassing and criminal mischief.
