The disbanded NFL Players Association is planning on hosting a two-day educational program for rookies at the end of June to help teach rookies about – among other things – the financial side of playing in the NFL.
The event, June 28-29, is dubbed “The Business of Football, Rookie Edition” will act as a replacement to the rookie symposium that the NFL cancelled because it “could not commit to the number of people who needed to attend and lecture the rookies” according to The Associated Press. It was scheduled for June 26 in Canton, Ohio.
Every rookie was invited and encouraged to attend and learn about financial planning, good behavior on and off the field and other information to prepare them for a future in – and after – the NFL
