NCAA basketball coaching carousel: Maryland, Arizona, Memphis

We’re riding this ride again! As Gary Potter in Happy Gilmore said: “You put the quarter in, you get on the horse, it goes up and down, and around. Circular, circle. Feel it. Go with the flow.”

We’re flow’n alright.

The latest story today is that Sean Miller is headed to Maryland. The [Five] contributor Matthew Harris, who is currently in Baltimore, got word of that story shortly after noon today.

But that is only the beginning. When coaches start moving, it’s like dominoes. One move triggers the next.

Now word is that Josh Pastner of Memphis is going to jump ship to head to Arizona. But that isn’t the only word. On Twitter, word is that Josh Pastner is also saying that Sean Miller is staying in Arizona.

I love Twitter.

I’m going to stick with the former. Multiple sources are indicating that Miller is leaving and a few more are corroborating reports that Pastner is going to make the jump to the Pac-12 – new TV deal and all.

Gary Parrish even tweeted that if Sean Miller left Arizona that Josh Paster wouldn’t “be the first” phone call but would be on the short list.

And if Pastner leaves, who will fill his shoes?

Thoughts, opinions, witty observations are always welcome…
