in 2011, the Big East tournament featured every team from the conference. And Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim thinks that’s good for business.
“I don’t think that’s good for the league, for the players or the fans of any program to not go to the Big East Tournament,” Boeheim said.
For the second straight year, the Big East brought every team to Madison Square Garden and next year, witht he addition of TCU, the total number of teams will be 17.
The Big East conference meetings are currently underway and Boeheim says the league’s coaches are making the case for all 17 teams to make the trip to New York City.
Boeheim said that depriving teams, players and fans the opportunity to go to New York City is wrong. Recall that before 2009, only 12 teams made the tournament.
