Philadelphia Flyers star defenseman Chris Pronger will NOT return to the lineup and play in Game 4 with his team on the brink of elimination.
Pronger has not practiced and has been out of the lineup since Game 1 due to a lower-body injury.
He did not take part in the team’s morning skate and has been officially listed as day-to-day by general manager Paul Holmgren.
The 36-year old defenseman has battled injuries throughout the 2010-2011 season. He returned to the lineup in Game 6 of the Flyers first round series against the Buffalo Sabres after being sidelined since March 8 due to a broken right hand.
After playing Games 6 and 7 against the Sabres, and Game 1 against the Bruins, Pronger missed Game 2 and 3 of the series due to injury.
The Flyers currently trail their best-of-seven series to the Bruins three-games-to-none.
