Bruce Pearl might not have to worry about NCAA violations or recruitment anymore. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Developmental League are in talks with the ex-Tennessee Head Coach Bruce Pearl.
The Red Claws President and General Manager, Jon Jennings reportedly reached out to Pearl and the two are expected to meet. In fact, Jennings confirmed the Red Claws interest on Friday but declined to comment.
Pearl was fired after six seasons with Tennessee after he lied to NCAA investigators about rules violations.
Pearl, according to Yahoo! Sports, has expressed interest to move to the NBA or into television but he’s open to hearing Maine’s pitch.
It might be a great match. The Red Claws are only two-years-old and are one of the D-League’s most popular teams – they’ve sold out 48 consecutive games.
