Brian Rafalski retired from the NHL Wednesday. The three-time Stanley Cup winner and two-time Olympic silver medalist decided to call it quits after a 11 NHL seasons.
He was limited by injuries in 2010-2011 – scoring only four goals in 63 games.
Rafalski decided that retiring in good health and spending time with his family is more important than the $6 million he was due in 2011-2012.
He retires with 79 goals and 515 points.
