In a tweet late Saturday night, Arizona Athletic Director, Greg Byrne informed the world that Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller was staying put.
Byrne said that “Internet speculation wrong. Sean Miller is staying at Arizona as our hoops coach.”
The school has announced the news in a press release on its web site.
“Sean and I have had many positive conversations and have been working on a revised contract for some time,” said Byrne. “I’m pleased to confirm that we have agreed to an amendment to Sean’s contract that we hope will keep him in Tucson for many years to come.”
The [Five] contributor, Charles Gorra was fast on the heels of the announcement.
The Miller move seemed all but completed early Saturday. Reports are that Maryland Athletic Director, Kevin Anderson, couldn’t quite seal the deal.
